Setup on top, finished painting on bottom. This is "Kettle & Hue" from 2013, 11x14in oil on panel. While I don't make paintings that look like this anymore, still life offers a challenge that continues to hold my interest: How to compose and paint ordinary objects in a way that makes them something more. It's not what, but how. Every decision for a reason.
