My least favorite part of getting tattooed is the break…

My least favorite part of getting tattooed is the break from physical activities, makes me so grumpy😂😭. So I’ve been putting it off, but earlier this week I finally did a second session on my self tattoo (based off of one of my paintings) and made some progress. The first session was kinda fun, but during this one I couldn’t get into the zone. A familiar feeling to any experienced artist, but one you never get used to. That’s how it goes sometimes. It also happened while painting yesterday. Don’t be a professional artist if you like feeling good about yourself…just kidding… but not really kidding. It’s been informative to feel each sensation with its corresponding technique. Also a good testing grounds for different ways to mix color. I can see my progress… the things I would have done differently, seeing how different strategies healed, and learning how to fix things. A portion of this tattoo was done by @chris_burke_tattoos to show me some great color techniques during my latest trip to @timelesstattoos @empireinks to continue my apprenticeship activities under my mentor @fineartfirst . One year-ish into tattooing and tattoo days are my favorite. Tattoo days are satisfying pretty much 100% of the time, which blows the satisfaction ratio of painting days out of the water. Painting days are more like 50/50 and I’m being very generous 😂. I’m lucky to have both. Still figuring out the balance between them.
